Leading fleet and asset management software company Jaama has further underlined its commitment to providing customers with sophisticated cutting-edge solutions with the appointment of a dedicated IT manager.

Stuart Jones, who reports to Jaama IT director James Thresher, is responsible for maintaining the smooth running of the company’s IT infrastructure in addition to managing the implementation of various strategic framework projects

Additionally, his responsibilities include maintaining Jaama’s ISO 9001 certification for its quality management systems and ISO 27001:2013 certification for its information security management.

Mr Jones has joined Jaama with a 17-year IT career behind him during which he has worked in the local government, banking and housing sectors. He decided to break into IT after discovering a passion for technology as a teacher, which followed four years in the British Army. A physics graduate, Mr Jones completed a number of IT exams during his time teaching.

On joining Jaama, he said: “There are numerous projects for me to get stuck into straight away, including development of the new web Jaama portal, a number of infrastructure upgrades to various services and some new exciting systems to be introduced later this year which will further improve customers’ operating efficiencies.”

Jaama managing director Martin Evans said: “2016 was another fantastic year for Jaama with revenue up by 18% as an ever-increasing number of organisations decided to utilise our Key2 web-enabled technology.”

UK organisations collectively managing more than 800,000 vehicles, company car and commercial vehicle drivers and own-vehicle drivers as well their own workshops currently use Key2. That number is expected to grow significantly further in 2017. Additionally, Key2 is fast becoming the web-based software of choice for the plant, equipment and tool hire management industry.

Mr Evans continue: “2016 was Jaama’s most prosperous year to date with the company expanding to a completely new level and that pace of development is continuing in 2017. Jaama invests more than £2 million per year on software development to ensure that Key2 is at the cutting edge of management solutions.

“In addition to many of our customers taking advantage of our extensive and secure hosting environment, Jaama will be launching exciting new modules to complement Key2 during 2017. This has accelerated the need to have an even greater focus on managing our IT infrastructure. We are therefore delighted to have recruited an IT manager with the knowledge and experience that Stuart brings to the business.”
