An increasing number of ‘blue light’ fleets are introducing sophisticated web-based IT to provide effective and efficient management of vehicles alongside administration and cost savings.Selecting the most appropriate software partner and the most suitable fleet management solution are critical to obtaining value for money and a return on investment as well as ensuring new functionality can be continually added.
Experts from leading fleet management software supplier Jaama will be highlighting all the key factors fleet decision-makers should take into account when planning to introduce new technology at this year’s Blue Light & Amber Light Fleet Exhibition.
Jaama will be showcasing its multi-award-winning Key2 Vehicle and Workshop Management system on stand 145 in Hall 2 at the event, which takes place at The International Centre, Telford, on June 4 and 5.
Additionally, Jaama, which includes the British Transport Police, City of London Police, NHS Lothian and South Central Ambulance Service among its ‘blue light’ customers, will also be hosting 30-minute best practice seminars followed by a Q&A session at 2pm on each day.
Seminar delegates will be guided through the fleet management software decision-making process with all the key ‘do’s and don’ts’ highlighted by Jaama. What’s more, delegates can also book personal demonstrations of Key2 on the company’s stand.
Jaama sales and operations director Martin Evans said: “The benefits delivered from such systems are multiple, but they fall chiefly into three key areas: financial savings, a reduction in the amount of time spent on fleet administration, and improved levels of legislative compliance. All three issues should be a critical focus for ‘blue light’ fleet decision-makers.
“However, it is staggering that some public and private sector fleets continue to manage vehicles via spreadsheets or an antiquated software system or, in some cases, a combination of the two.”
Amid a continuing challenging economy, Jaama has been promoting a ‘spend to save’ philosophy with Mr Evans saying: “It is a strategy that many organisations are adopting in the software arena because savvy fleet decision-makers recognise that investment is critical to boosting vehicle operational efficiency and therefore business effectiveness.”
Jaama obtains many new customers as a result of existing client referrals. Mr Evans said: “It is apparent that during the decision-making process, fleet operators have taken time to visit their opposite number in other businesses to see their software in action.

The Blue Light & Amber Light Fleet Exhibition brings together delegates from the UK and international police services as well as colleagues from the other enforcement agencies, emergency services and Government departments.
