JAAMA DELIVERS ONLINE EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT SOLUTION TO PJC PLANT SERVICES
Increased control over plant hire equipment, reduced administration and an improved service to customers will be among the benefits to PJC Plant Services of implementing a cutting edge online software system from leading provider Jaama.
PJC Plant Services, a member of the £50 million turnover Paul John Group of companies, specialises in the hire of a wide cross section of tools and small and medium plant equipment to professional tradesmen including angle grinders, drills, generators, compressors, dumpers and mini diggers.
The company, which operates from two depots in Leicester, also runs a Consumable Department with more than £375,000 worth of stock including abrasives, adhesives, drill bits, fixings, fastenings, hand and power tools, PPE and a range of diamond products and many others. The Department offers the full range of products for the construction industry including building, plumbing, electrical and point of sale trades to name but a few.
Jaama’s online Key2 Rental Management system replaces technology that has been in use since PJC Plant Services started trading almost 30 years ago. Although it has been regularly updated, staff have still had to use spreadsheets to record some data, including equipment collection and delivery schedules.
The Key2 Rental Management system is being introduced during the first quarter of 2012 and will be used to manage all aspects of the PJC Plant Services business bringing a wide range of improvements to the company, suppliers and customers.
Idris Williams, operations director at PJC Plant Services, which has equipment valued at more than £2 million on its plant fleet for hire, said: “Key2 will significantly improve management control of all of our hire equipment.
“Key2 provides PJC Plant Services with a totally integrated solution that stores information and actively manages, monitors and intelligently reports on all aspects of the plant hire operation.”
That includes, for example, asset management, stores management, the hire of both single items and plant packs, rehire, operator hire and management, sale items, ordering, quotations, contracts, equipment maintenance and invoicing.
Mr Williams explained: “Under our old system some aspects of the business were managed through the IT system and others, for example equipment collection and delivery, via spreadsheets. Now everything will be managed online which, in relation to equipment collection and delivery, means that at a click of a button we can book equipment for rehire prior to it being returned thus improving customer service.”
Jaama managing director Jason Francis said: “We beat off stiff competition to win the PJC Plant Services contract.
“The company is an excellent customer for Jaama and one which firmly establishes us as a plant hire specialist software provider.”
Built for the Microsoft.NET framework and using Smart Client technology, Key2 Rental Management is an intuitive, easy to navigate, simple to use yet functionally-packed web-based business tool that will be used by PJC Plant Services employees at both its depots.
Mr Francis added: “Ultimately Key2 Rental Management significantly reduces administration and paper work. It delivers comprehensive management financial and operational reports and provides managers with a complete audit trail of equipment from initial quotation, through ordering, usage and on to disposal in one seamless system.”
